Wonderful things to do in the holiday home

What inspires more fun than a holiday home with a crackling woodburning stove for backdrop? Meanwhile, play a game or enjoy other activities that there is little time for in everyday life. Here are our suggestions for things to do when you are staying in a holiday home in Odder.

The east coast

Of course, the summer holidays should be enjoyed in a holiday home close to the beach, so you can quickly cool yourselves down by taking a fresh swim. Fortunately, you find the best beaches on the east coast. Saksild Beach is among Denmark's most child-friendly beaches with its shallow waters and white sand.
On the other hand, the windy days of autumn provide ample opportunity to fly a kite or go for a walk in the woods and collect chestnuts for making chestnut animals.

You decide the pace

For young families, small trips to playgrounds or farm shops such as Fru Møllers Mølleri, Karensminde Frugtplantage and Holtgaard are often great experiences in themselves.
Here, you can set the pace yourselves and determine the number of breaks. Bring a picnic basket and find a nice spot where you can sit and relax - or taste some of the local specialties. The small farm dairy at Øko Ged & Grønt, for example, produces goat cheese from the milk of its own goats.

Experiences on the road

Once you have laced up your hiking boots, we recommend exploring some of Eastern Jutland's most beautiful nature around Odder which can be experienced on foot or on bicycle. Bicycle paths, country roads or forest paths quickly take you around the area and allow you to explore every corner of Odder.

From child-friendly beaches to island-hopping and village fêtes

Odder is known for its beautiful coastline with long, child-friendly beaches, pleasant ports, rolling grain fields, windmills and blue fjords. It's pure idyll.
And the Odder Coast is a great area for water sports such as kayaking, kite surfing and windsurfing.
Go island-hopping and experience time standing still. Tunø is a car-free island with a cosy village pond and a unique church tower which, as the only in Denmark, also functions as a lighthouse. Also spend a day on Alrø tasting delicious Danish regional dishes and experiencing the bicycle ferry which means you can continue your trip to Snaptun and onwards to Horsens.

Outdoor

An army marches on its stomach

When you suddenly feel hungry, you can sink your teeth into delicious food from exciting eateries in Odder town, at the coast and on the charming port docks, in the green hills and on the farms. Only a short distance away, you find some of Denmark's major attractions, such as FÆNGSLET, LEGOLAND, ARoS, Horsens and the city of Aarhus. So, there are unique opportunities to make lots of great holiday memories together - even if the weather doesn't always invite to outdoor adventures.
