20 km. Cycle track along the highway from Odder to Ørting.
The route is marked with yellow on the printed maps of the region
During recent years the Åkjær manor has undergone a considerable renovation of the buildings as well as of the adjoining land. The farm buildings are new while the three-winged timber framed main building dates back to approximately the year 1700. The base of an even older castle from approximately 1350 has been found under the main building. The old manor dikes and the small farm workers houses at the edge of the wood add to the impression of the manor.
The Uldrup Bakker (Hills).
At the field lane leading to the old farm of Uldrupgård, there is a plate describing the neighborhood which is a nature conservation area because of the unique landscape. The preserved, but unfortunately very dilapidated Uldrupgård was built at the beginning of the 19th century in Holstein architectural style and was used for sheep-breeding.
Sondrup Strand (Beach).
The old fishing hamlet at the Horsens Fjord (Inlet) has its own charming atmosphere. Two benches at the beach invite you to take a rest and enjoy the view of the inlet and the island of Alrø.
Udsigtshøjene (Vantage point).
From the preserved Bronze Age hills above the old sunken road at Trustrup there is a splendid view of the Horsens Fjord, and on a clear day Northern Funen and Odense are visible, too. The highest point is 74m above sea level. There is a plate with a map and description of the area.
Naturstien (Natural footpath).
At the beautiful church in Hundslund you follow the highway to the right and then turn left at Guldagervej in direction of the old railway station. Again to the right and from the end of the road you follow the natural footpath on the old closed down railway to Bilsbæk. The legendary hero Svend Fælding is associated with the area around Åkjær with names like the Svend Fælding´s Bridge and Fælding Stable.
